Jane and Ants's Christmas 2022

We saw in the New Year at Witchelina with a 40 deg summer greeting. This was one of our 5 trips to the Nature Foundation properties for the year. Because of rain in late 2021 a dramatic change from the previous drought conditions. The rains continued throughout 2022 and it was great to see the desert flourish. We really do enjoy our"work" as managers on Hiltaba and Witchelina.     Mid January saw us sailing on "Karrpa" west to Pondalowie Bay, Thistle Island and then home on the North Coast of KI. A quick trip but a beautiful 250 nautical mile sail Then in late January with 6 island friends we spent 5 days kayaking the North Coast from Emu Bay to De Mole River. Open water, camping on beaches and some challenging paddling. A big rain event just prior meant the creeks were flowing, dirty estuary water and challenging bar crossings because of the outflows, all very exciting.
